How To Configure Cleaning and Inspection Tasks in Your PMS
Written By Chad McGuire (Sparrow Intel)
With your cleaning and/or inspection tasks tracked in your PMS, Sparrow Intel can automatically correlate these tasks to reviews - allowing you to generate powerful cleaner and/or inspector reports based on guest feedback.
Sparrow Intel also supports querying and creating tasks from other 3rd party tools such as Breezeway.
Hostaway:
Set up Auto-tasks for all turnover cleans between reservations if you have not already. You can follow Hostaway’s guide here on how to do so.
When setting up your new Auto-task (or modifying an existing auto-task), you must set the “Category” field for Sparrow Intel to recognize cleaning and inspections tasks compared t other tasks in your PMS. Use category “cleaning“ for cleaning tasks (and category “other“ for inspection tasks).

Guesty:
To ensure Sparrow Intel correctly identifies cleaning tasks and inspection tasks from Guesty, the “Task Type” field in Guesty must be properly set for each task.
This field tells Sparrow Intel whether a task is a turnover cleaning, an inspection, or something else entirely. Without this classification, Sparrow Intel cannot reliably distinguish between these task types and other custom tasks you may use in your Guesty account.
Please verify that:
Tasks intended to be treated as turnover cleans are labeled with a Task Type of Cleaning.
Tasks meant to be inspections are labeled with a Task Type of Inspection.
See the example below for how to configure this in Guesty.

If you need general guidance in setting up Guesty’s recurring Auto-tasks, please see Guesty’s guide: https://help.guesty.com/hc/en-gb/articles/9370553270941-Managing-tasks
